Trieste's Botanical Gardens are situated on an artificial island and are dedicated to the study and conservation of the wild flora from the surrounding Friuli Venezia Giulia district. Included is a wide variety of aquatic plants and swamp life. The gardens are known locally as the Civico Orto Botanico.

Situated on the outskirts of Trieste, this park surrounds the villa that once served as the home of Baron Pasquale Revoltella. Although the villa itself is not open to the public, the Parco di Villa Revoltella is a pleasant spot in which visitors can relax.
